Mobile Software Engineer, Android

New York, NY

Technology and Development

The team seeks a seasoned mobile engineer to join our Android team that is driven to build great Android apps in a fast paced Agile environment. Delivery, accountability, and passion are three words your peers use to describe you and you excel working with your peers to ensure code standards are upheld and quality is high. You are comfortable working in Java or Kotlin, or both, and are open to doing a hack week project in Flutter, it has slick animations.

In your first year on the job, expect to work on platform-wide initiatives like Playlist Radio or i18n in new countries. Your work is OKR focused and is responsible for driving company metrics up and to the right. Ideally, you give good code review and know how to work in a vertical/feature team alongside your product manager, designer, fellow Android engineers and backend engineers. Additionally, you write copious and meaningful automated tests and are comfortable with continuous integration and rapid deployment. You write code that runs on devices from Kit Kat to Pie, Android TVs, Wearables, Google Home, and inside a Ford. You think more about battery life than a normal human should. You have bad dreams about stream buffering. And if you are bored, and want to go full-stack with your Scala, Data Science, or JavaScript chops, you will find a vertical team to play in. Sound like fun?
